About this tool

Zakat is 2.5% of your qualifying wealth held for one lunar year, payable only if your total meets or exceeds the nisab. The nisab is traditionally set at 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver — scholars commonly recommend the silver nisab because it brings more relief to the poor. This calculator follows the standard Hanafi worksheet: add gold and silver at current value, cash in hand and in banks, invested wealth and business inventory, then subtract immediate liabilities and due debts. Important: rates below are placeholders pre-filled for convenience — update them with today's market rate before relying on the result, and ask a scholar about unusual cases (loans, agriculture ushr, business stock valuation).
