About this tool

Reddit hosts videos with its own player and (since the API changes) tightens access yearly. This downloader parses the post ID from your link, loads the official Reddit player/post on this page, and — from your browser, which Reddit's CORS rules treat differently than datacenter bots — attempts a direct fetch of the post's public JSON for title, author and cover. Honest note: Reddit's video files are split audio+video streams (DASH), so single-file MP4 ripping needs server-side merging — the reason so many Reddit downloaders churn and break. Your OWN content: Reddit's Data request export delivers your originals (and even then videos may come as separate streams). We keep the reliable half local.
