About this tool
A PDF compressor that never uploads your file. Lossless mode re-saves the document with pdf-lib, dropping duplicated objects and unused metadata — text stays sharp and selectable; savings depend on how the PDF was built (5–30% is typical). Aggressive mode re-renders each page with pdf.js at your chosen quality and rebuilds the PDF from optimized JPEG pages — commonly 60–90% smaller for scanned/image-heavy files. Honest trade-off: aggressive mode turns pages into images, so text is no longer selectable and exact fonts are flattened — pick it for email limits, web uploads and archives; pick lossless when text must stay perfect. Either way, everything happens on your device.
